About FishLadder

FishLadder is an HR Solutions provider focused on bringing small and midsized Florida businesses the very best and most cost effective Payroll, Human Resources (HR), Workers’ Compensation and Health Insurance solutions available in the market today.  Our approach is unique in that we act as your advocate and are totally objective in our approach.  While we do have our own proprietary payroll and HR solutions, we are agnostic in what we ultimately recommend as being the best payroll or HR solution.  That is based solely on the facts and circumstances for each prospective Florida business.

FishLadder’s direct solution is an ASO payroll and HR platform, combined with insurance underwritten specifically for your company.  We have access to all the major carriers from both a health insurance and workers’ comp standpoint.  What sets us apart from the competition is we don’t limit our analysis to our direct solutions when determining how to best address your needs. FishLadder also represents several of the best Professional Employer Organizations (PEO’s) in the state of Florida.  As such, we are in the unique position to be able to match the best and most economical solutions in the market to your specific situation.

Why Outsourcing?

Florida Payroll services, payroll tax compliance, employee health & welfare benefits and claims administration are the most commonly outsourced services, according to a Coopers & Lybrand survey.  A business can expand rapidly using a partner like FishLadder to deliver all the capabilities of a larger firm without the expense and delay of directly acquiring and managing each new resource needed. In fact, business owners and outsourcing experts alike say that, at its best, outsourcing allows companies to concentrate on what they do best - their "core competencies." It enables them to have all other functions performed more efficiently at a lower cost and higher level of competency by companies that themselves are performing in their own key areas of expertise.

FishLadder is a leading provider of affordable, integrated sophisticated employment-related Payroll, Benefit, Retirement and HR solutions for small and mid-size Florida businesses.

What’s the difference between a PEO and an ASO?

An ASO is a third-party provider of common HR services. Depending on its range and scope, an ASO can address all or only a few of your businesses’ various payroll and HR needs, including payroll, payroll tax administration, benefits administration, risk management and others. Like FishLadder, most ASO companies offer services à la carte so that clients can pick and choose which HR responsibilities they want to outsource. At FishLadder, you decide the level of HR support you need.  We add value to our clients by delivering a broad range of integrated cost-effective HR, Payroll, Retirement and Insurance Solutions.
The clearest advantage of partnering with FishLadder, as compared to PEOs, is flexibility. Companies can choose which services to outsource and which to manage in-house. Many small and mid-sized Florida businesses turn to FishLadder so they can focus on their core business objectives, save time and reduce costs.

PEOs, on the other hand, also handle many HR responsibilities for their clients — from providing workers’ compensation coverage to creating an employee handbook. A PEO also assumes all associated liabilities and legal responsibilities for its clients.  This is because a PEO becomes the employer of record (co-employer) with a client company.  When entering a relationship with a PEO, essentially, a business “fires” it’s employees, the PEO “hires”  the employees directly and then “leases” them back to the client company for work.  The PEO serves as the administrative employer, while the client business acts as the on-site employer.  Since the PEO is the employer-of-record, it is responsible for federal and state taxes, as well as workers’ compensation.
